Yo! I was hanging out with my friend Sadie Thom today and for my awesome blog viewers I asked "hey, Sadie, would you mind if I interviewed you for my blog?" Modest as always, Sadie's reply was simple "you have a blog? That's so cool! Sure, you can interview me" so I did and here are the results of that interview - just for you!
What was the inspiration for your new and final album Sadie's Classix?
"My fans are the reason I've achieved so much and this last album will be dedicated to them - they are the reason my career's been such an amazing one and they make me smile all the time and never ceaze to amaze me. This album's from the bottom of my heart and I wanted to make it something that the people listening to it could be more involved with and actually feel like they were part of it - Sadie's Classix is dedicated to everyone who's ever heard one of my songs and thought 'this is pretty good!'"
Do you have any tips to succeed in the music industry?
"Confidence is very important because if you don't believe in yourself then no-one else will! I also think singers or anyone in show buisness must listen to their fans and put them first before themselves and you have also got to have faith and love what you're doing - don't do it for the money or the fame - do it because you love making people happy and seeing your fans go wild when they see you perform!"
Who would you love to work with in the future - dead or alive?
"I would love to record a single with Prince because he's so iconic and such an inspiration to everyone - I would also love to work with Madonna or Michael Jackon and Britney Spears, Paul McCartney and John Mayer are all major inspirations of mine. They are people I admire and who I think have changed the world through their music and the amount of joy they bring to fans including me - I'm a big The Beatles fan!"
Me too! If you weren't a singer/actress/songwriter, what would be your occupation?
"Originally I was a hardcore groupie and I wanted to be part of a band, when I was a teenager, I went to a lot of festivals and gigs and I went to loads of different countries to see my favourite bands and artists perform, I've always loved music and performing so I couldn't do any job that didn't involve that because it's in my blood and it's part of who I am. A leopard can't change its spots and I can't change my hobbies!"
Any style tips for my female fans?
"Be confident, individual and expressive - those are my three main goals when it comes to fashion - I like outfits with a sense of fun, individuality and a little bit of craziness - casual outfits are not for me - I believe that every outfit must contain a statement or proclomation or what's the point of the outfit in the first place? Casuality's an awesome look, but it's not for me, my outfits are a lot more dramatic and kooky, I like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga's styles as well as Madonna, Taylor Momsen and Marilyn Monroe, they're my style icons!"
Thanks for chatting to me, Sadie, I'm sure my blog viewers will enjoy reading our interview, did you like it?
"Yeah, thanks for having me! I have a message for your blog viewers, Ivan: hey, guys, please follow the blog if you liked this interview and don't forget to comment and....oh yeah, Milky says hi!"
